Why Brew Your Own?

Beer has been brewed for as long as there has been civilization. The ancient Egyptians left their recipes it hieroglyphics on the walls of the pyramids. Beer was almost always brewed at home, for home consumption. In fact the brewery as we know it is a relatively modern invention. Just as each household baked their own bread, sewed their own clothes and made their own soap, they brewed their own beer. Now we have come full circle and home brewing is again popular.

IT'S ECONOMICAL

You can make a good beer for about $8.00 a case and up, once equipment is paid for. That's only $2.00 a six-pack for average ingredients. This is an average of our most and least expensive malts. Some beers are even cheaper!

IT'S EASY

If you can boil water you can make your own beer. Some extract recipes do not require boiling the malt, only a gallon of water with sugar. Mix remaining ingredients in the fermenter and leave it alone until bottling time (1 to 3 weeks). Bottle and wait 2 weeks (if possible) and enjoy. At 4 weeks it will be even better.

IT'S GREAT

You control the taste and the ingredients whether you like light, amber, or dark beers, light bodied, full bodied, extra hops, high or low alcohol, little or a lot of carbonation, it's up to you. You make it to your own taste; it's your beer!
